Reserving/
Adopting

Reservations start to take place when hamster babies are approximately 6-7 weeks old, and they typically go home between 8-9 weeks old. This may vary depending on the litter and is at our discretion.

First reservations will be offered to applicants that are on our waiting list (see the below section for waiting list information). If any hamsters remain available after getting through the waiting list, they will be posted as available for adopters not on the waiting list. You will be asked to fill out an adoption form if you were not previously on the list.

Hamsters are only adopted out singly unless you have separate enclosures.

In order to officially hold/reserve your chosen hamster, a non-refundable* deposit of half the total cost is due within 48 hours. The deposit may be paid via Cashapp, or Venmo / Paypal friends and family only. If you do not use friends and family, an additional 10% of the cost will be added to the total to cover fees. The remaining cost is due at time of pickup and can be paid via cash, Cashapp, Venmo, or Paypal.

Waiting List Policy

Effective January 18, 2026: We have started a waiting list. Please note that even if you have previously submitted or been approved through an adoption form, the new waiting list form is still required in order to be officially added to the list.

Due to our limited availability, the waiting list itself is also limited. Once the list reaches capacity, it will be closed to new applicants.

To be added to the waiting list, a waiting list adoption form must be submitted.

The waiting list form will only be accessible when the waiting list is open. If the waiting list is closed, it will not be possible to submit the form.

We ask that you only submit the form if you are actively looking to adopt from one of the next 1–2 upcoming litters.

At this time, we do not require a deposit to be placed on the waiting list. Because of this, we do enforce strict response time limits once reservations begin.

When babies become available for reservation, we will contact individuals in order from the waiting list. Once contacted, you will have 24 hours to provide an initial response. If no response is received within that time frame, your place on the waiting list will be forfeited and we will move on to the next person.

Communication will typically take place via email using the address provided on your form. If we have previously communicated via Facebook, communication may also take place there.

If you choose to move forward with a reservation, a deposit will be required as soon as possible to hold your selected hamster. We reserve the right to move on if the deposit is not received within 48 hours of your selection. Please see the section above for deposit information.

You will receive a response to your form letting you know if you have been approved and added to the list. Typically responses will be received within 48 hours.
Picking up/
Receiving Your New Critter(s)
Pick up of your hamster generally takes place at the rodentry in Shakopee, MN. To reduce traffic inside our home, the exchange will take place outside or in the garage. You will need to bring a carrier/cage to bring your new critter home in. They will be brought out to you in our carrier and will be transferred safely into your carrier.
*We cannot hold a hamster for more than 20 days from the date they are ready to go home. If you do not pick up within that time, you risk losing the deposit and critter(s) may be put back up for adoption unless prior arrangements were made. You may inquire about alternate pick-up arrangements if you are unable to pick up at the rodentry for some reason, or unable to pick up within the requested timeframe; however, this must be addresesed prior to reserving. We are also open to working with reliable small animal transports; however, we do not cover fees for transport.
Health/
Temperament
We strive to make sure that our lines are bred to be healthy with good temperaments; however, there are things that are out of human control. We observe the health and behavior of the critters regularly prior to making them available to reserve/adopt to make sure they are fit for adoption. On the rare chance that an already reserved baby becomes unfit to go to their new home for any health or temperament related reason, a replacement (if available) or a refund of the deposit will be offered. This is the only circumstance where a deposit may be refunded.
